Owsley County High School students took part in a project integrating a number of academic and technical courses with the school's agriculture program. The effort was centered with the making of sorghum molasses which was offerred for sale on October 3rd

Students grew and harvested the cain which was prepared and fed through a grinder extruding the sweet syrup. The surup was then reduced to molasses through boiling. As it became ready, students bottled it for sale.

The day was a true community event with other crafts, music, food, historical displays and story-telling.
